Palmiro Michele Nicola Togliatti (1893-1964) was the General Secretary of the Italian Communist Party and highly regarded in the Soviet Union, where the city of Stavropol was renamed to Tolyatti after his passing, since Togliatti had been instrumental in a collaboration between Fiat and AutoVAZ (Lada), whose headquarters was (and still is) in Tolyatti (Толья́тти in Russian)
